Siegfried is the third installment of the Wagner`s four part epic Der Ring des Niebelungen – the story of a young man’s journey into manhood.

Siegfried is raised by Mime, Alberichs brother. He is eager to learn of his family history and begin his personal quest to understand the nature of fear and knowledge. On this quest, evil forces await him. Mime convinces Siegfried to fight a fierce dragon by the name of Fafner and in fighting him, he can learn fear. Siegfried slays the dragon who guards a hoard that includes the ring, the ultimate source of power. Lurking nearby is Mimes brother, the evil dwarf Alberich, who hopes to steal the ring from him and rule over Wotan and the rest of the Gods. Siegfried’s journey into manhood takes its course.
